Biodiveristy and Climate Change

How biodiverse are gardens?

Gardens can be very biodiverse. One of the reasons for this is that they often contain a wide range of plants and small-scale habitats in close proximity.

How can I measure how biodiverse my garden is?

There are lots of surveys, citizen science projects and monitoring schemes to get involved in.  See the Resources page for further information. Chalkhill Rewilding offers biodiversity surveys.

Is climate change affecting our gardens?

Climate change is impacting on our gardens.  It is affecting the amount of rain and the temperature in our gardens. That affects which plants do best, also when plants are in flower and fruiting.  This in turn affects the animals which use the gardens resources.

I’m really worried about the environment, what positive actions can I take?

Many of us are suffering from eco-anxiety. We need to find positive ways to connect to and support nature in our local community Managing Eco-anxiety
